This study presents the development of a software tool for integrated frame analysis and design of structural steel connections. The open Application Programming Interface (API) technology is applied to integrate the developed software with SAP2000 for frame analysis and design. The software complies with the current version of AISC LRFD requirements and specifications. It aims to serve as a simple but efficient tool for a professional structural designer and the local contractor with limited knowledge and tool in designing typical steel framing connections and assist the designer in the automated structural steel design procedure. The software currently supports four types of bolted beam-column and two types of welded beam-column connections. The program is designed to be user-friendly, supporting several design examples and online help.
